Akbank Jazz Festival, one of the oldest festivals in Turkey, prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special album.
Akbank Jazz Festival has supported Turkish jazz music and musicians while hosting more than 5000 international and Turkish jazz musicians to make sure jazz is passed onto new generations by organizing 772 concerts, 1000 workshops and more than 100 interviews in 30 years. The festival, which has reached more than 500000 listeners during these years, is preparing to feature a new special album for its 30th year.
The festival, whose motto is “Jazz State of the City”, will feature original works by 30 prominent Turkish jazz musicians, composed with the musings of the emotions and ideas born from the city and this era. This album will be an archive that supports Turkish jazz and will be released in LP and digital formats in October.
This special achieval album will be accompanied by a documentary which will feature studio works and mini interviews of and by 30 different Turkish jazz musicians and bands.
The organization and content programming will take place with a collaboration with Pozitif. Musicians and bands who have performed during the 30 years history of the festival will be featured in this album.
