More than 80 artists will be performing in this year’s festival including Steve Kuhn, Billy Cobham, Hiromi, Yellowjackets, Salif Keita and Jethro Tull The Prog Years.
PSM Jazz Festival will be celebrating its 4th year with the motto “Jazz Festival of All Genres”. The festival will start on the International Jazz Day on 30th of April and will present a program that reflects the synthesis of different music genres. The festival will bring together blues, electronic, ethnic, funk, indie, classical, pop, rock and world music under the jazz umbrella between 30 April-5 July and will welcome more than 80 local and international musicians. Local musicians will present their projects that are exclusive to the PSM during the jazz festival and will give the audiences an opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience through their stage shows. The tickets of the festival will be on sale at passo.com.tr and from the ticket booths at Zorlu PSM on the 17th of February.
PSM Jazz Festival will be taking part in the Keychange program which in an international endeavor to achieve gender equality within music industry. The festival will host 30% female artists this year and will aim to increase this number even more until 2020 while utilizing a new Special Access Category to aid those in need of assistance by offering free tickets to their accompanying companies.
Jazz pianist Steve Kuhn Trio will Perform at the Opening…
Steve Kuhn, who is acknowledged as one of the most prominent living jazz pianists, will perform at the Turkcell Platinum Stage on the 30th of April International Jazz Day. The 82-years old pianist has worked with legends such as Coleman Hawkins, Vic Dickerson, Chet Baker, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Gary McFarland and Bill Evans and is named one of the most important jazz pianists of the world. He will be performing the opening concert of PSM Jazz Festival.
