Jazz Society of Turkey will be hosting the 20 Yılda Jazz (Jazz throughout 20 years) photography exhibition at Oasis, Bodrum, within the scope of their 20th Anniversary events. The exhibition has been designed to give a sense of travelling to the past and will start with Ege Dai’s DJ set and cocktails. It can be visited until the 14th of August.
The exhibition will includea selection of photographs taken during the events given through Jazz Society of Turkey’s 20 years of existence. It will feature photos of famous jazz musicians and artistic photos. These photos will be selected from the works included in the workshops collaboratively given by Dijital Akademi through the years in order to improve stage photography in Turkey and to build up an archive for the Jazz Society.
Digital Akademi’s founding president Melih Özbek says “Taking photographs means bringing about aesthetic abstraction from within the chaos surrounding us. Talking about jazz, one is faced with a harmonious whole instead of this chaos. The musicians’ stage stance, their order, and their instruments carry pieces of the soul of the music they make. Maybe because of this reason, taking photos of jazz concerts is a different experience and joy. As Digital Akademi Jazz Festival Workshop, we get a taste of this pleasure every year during Ankara International Jazz Festival. We hope that you will experience the same joy while viewing these photographs as we do while photographing the concerts.”
The exhibition will open its gates at 18:30 on 25 July and Ege Dai will be giving a special DJ performance for this occasion. Jazz Society of Turkey’s 20 Yılda Jazz Photography Exhibition can be viewed in Oasis Bodrum Shopping Centre Sümbül Sokak Exhibition Area between 25 July-14 August.
