Akbank Jazz Festival, one of the oldest festivals in Turkey, offer young talents to participate in “jam sessions” with the leading Turkish jazz musicians on its 30th anniversary.
The applications for the competition, which will be separated into “Winds”, “Percussion”, “Strings”, “Keys” and “Vocals” branches, will be accepted from all amateur or semi-professional young musicians who are younger than 30 years old who haven’t had a Professional music career before.
The applicants will have to send their demo recording, short CV and a cover letter which explains their music style with the filled out form which can be found on www.akbankcaz.com/jamzz between 20 July – 11 September 2020.
The members of the jury include: Alp Ersönmez, Cem Tuncer, Çağrı Sertel, Ediz Hafızoğlu, Elif Çağlar, Engin Recepoğulları, Ercüment Orkut, Ferit Odman, İlhan Erşahin, Kağan Yıldız and Sibel Köse. The results will be announced on the 1st of October 2020 Thursday.
The organization and content programming of the event will be done with the cooperation of Pozitif. The talented young jazz musicians will be awarded in “Best Performance”, “Best Improvization” and “Best Vocal Interpretation” branches and will have the opportunity to perform with master musicians during the 30th Akbank Jazz Festival as well as a gift certificate from Zuhal Music and a studio recording session as sponsored by Zuhal Music.
