International Nilüfer Jazz Vacation is preparing to bring masters of jazz together with their admirers.
Nilüfer Jazz Vacation, organized by the Municipality of Nilüfer for three consecutive years, will take place between 28 January-18 February this year and will host many famous artists.
The Municipality of Nilüfer organized Nilüfer Jazz Vacation for the first time in 2016 with the slogan “Something Good” and it is now getting ready to bring together art lovers and the magical world of jazz music for the third time. Nilüfer Jazz Vacation will start on the 28th of January and many esteemed jazz musicians are scheduled to perform until the 18th of February. Sarp Maden, Alp Ersönmez and Volkan Öktem’s modern jazz trio Maden Öktem Ersönmez will perform the opening concert following the opening cocktail at Nâzım Hikmet Kültürevi. The beloved jazz trio will win over the hearts of their listeners with their unique sound. The band draws the audience in a musical story with their creative and masterfully executed music.
The second concert of Nilüfer Jazz Vacation will be performed by Renaud Garcia-Fons, famous for his 5-sting double bass that he designed. The famous double bass player will perform his new project Revoir Paris on the 31st of January, Wednesday, at Nâzım Hikmet Kültürevi.
Well-known jazz band Fatih Erkoç Quartet will perform at BAOB Auditorium on the 8th of February.
İstanbul Kâinat Radyosu will also be among the famous performers of Nilüfer Jazz Vacation. They will perform on the 12th of February, Monday, at Nâzım Hikmet Kültürevi and win over many hearts with their unique style.
Ediz Hafızoğlu will perform the closing concert of Nilüfer Jazz Vacation on the 18th of February, Sunday.
Ediz Hafızoğlu has accompanied many musicians of various genres from jazz to rock’n roll and metal with his drums. He will be performing his own pieces for the Bursa audiences this time. Ediz Hafızoğlu “Nazdrave & Friends” is a concert not to miss for those who wish to witness the musical journey of a drummer who lives on the stage, surrounded by music.
Workshop and Movie Screenings
Nilüfer Jazz Vacation will also host a workshop and movie screenings. Director Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land” and “Whiplash” will be screened at Konak Kültürevi. There will be informative presentations done on how drums are used in jazz during Ediz Hafıoğlu’s Drumming Workshop and demonstrations will be done with the participants.
