Istanbul Jazz Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) under the sponsorship of Garanti BBVA and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is releasing the third album of the Young Jazz+ project. The album includes one of their own and previously unreleased original compositions from 6 bands consisting of young musicians under the age of 30. The album was released on all digital platforms on November 21, in cooperation with İKSV and Sony Music Turkey, with the support of İKSV Young Artist Fund and Mehmet Uluğ Fund.
The Young Jazz+ project, which was initiated by the Istanbul Jazz Festival organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) under the sponsorship of Garanti BBVA, with the aim of creating a platform for young musicians and groups interested in music in Turkey, whether amateur or semi-professional, to take part in the festival program, is releasing its third album.
The groups and solo projects selected from among the applications for the Young Jazz+ program, which turned 21 this year, worked with experienced musicians who were matched according to their styles.
Volkan Öktem to Eggmann Quartet, Korhan Futacı to BÜMK Orkestra, Okan Kaya to Keskin Band, Ayşe Tütüncü to Zonda 4, Selen Gülün to Projektiles, Esra Gürçay Quartet feat. Peter Shalamov supported Önder Focan as a producer. During the recordings made at Hayyam Studios, with the contribution of the producers who mentored the groups, a free and dynamic album emerged, perhaps unique in this sense in our country, where the passion and excitement of youth were balanced with the wisdom of mastery. The launch concert of the album will be held at Pera 77 on Thursday, December 7.
This year, the Selection Committee of Young Jazz+ includes, musician Ayşe Tütüncü, musician Cenk Erdoğan, musician Selen Gülün, musician Ogün Sanlısoy, musician Volkan Öktem, radio host Dr. Hakan Rauf Tüfekçi, writer Yekta Kopan, Sony Music Turkey General Manager Özden Bora, Pozitif and Babylon co-founder Ahmet Uluğ and Istanbul Jazz Festival Director Harun İzer were present.
Genç Caz+ 23 can be listened to on various platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, Fizy and Muud, starting from November 21.

Young Jazz+ concerts have provided nearly 100 young musicians and ensembles the opportunity to take part in the same festival with world-famous jazz artists over the past 21 years. After the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Young Jazz+ participants had the opportunity to participate in other festivals and perform in various jazz clubs in Turkey and abroad.
