Kamil Erdem’s new album “Interactions”, which has been reflecting jazz and Turkish music-specific tones in his compositions since he founded Asiaminor in 1990, has been released under the label of Kalan Music.
“Interactions” reflects musical “interactions” from two distant geographies with the attitudes and decorations of Turkish makam music, as well as Latin influences ranging from Paraguayan harp music to Brazilian and Cuban traditional music.
In the album, which includes eight compositions, all of which belong to Erdem, Kamil Erdem plays the guitar, Fatih Ahıskalı plays the oud and Kaan Ahıskalı plays percussions. Paraguay, which is included in the album “Interactions” with one track each, featuring Ülkü Aybala Sunat on vocals and Brian Caballero in the bandoneon, was previously released as a single.
