Anıl is one of us, he has “Absorb” and “Harsh Consonants”. Yuki comes from afar. They met in Berlin in May 2017 and the ideas of collaboration take root. They say “Okay”, they are now ready to follow this path; they give their first concert, the day ends, everyone is happy, everyone is at peace.
Some time passes, Yuki says “Why don’t you come visit?”. Anıl says “Okay” and jumps on a plane and gets on his way to Japan. Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohama… They give 12 amazing concerts. They record one of their performances before he leaves because they want such diligently created music to be immortal. An incredible experience.
The warmth and light emitted by those who listen “Rapid Eye” crescendo like a prayer and reaches out to the sky with “To The Sky”. Whether you say “This is free improvization” or “No, no, this is a music with much thought given to it”, it is impossible not to notice the strong connection and communication between Yuki and Anıl. I really missed listening to music that excites one, makes one think and to comment with pleasure. Albums like “Shadows” remind me how I prefer such music to industrial ones that slip away from our hands like soap bubbles on their way to the sewers.

Bright light, scream, speed, chaos, disorder, color, black, dark blood red, the shortest phases in the moment, hierarchy (?!), resistance, backstreets, rain, Saturday night, chemistry, poem, rhythm (?!), eye, heart, ambition, lust, fingerprint, Bach, Escher, Cage, Cunningham, Rothko, Maupassant, Rimbaud, Bauhaus/Schlemmer, Wittgenstein, Murnau, Ginsberg ya da Burroughs, Vian, Hawking, Dali, Kooning, Cansever, Flaubert, Proust, Galip Tekin, Bailey, McClure, Heino, Ono, Zorn, Brötzmann…
I think you should add it to your list. You too… You should add to this list whatever that makes you excited, makes your blood boil when you listen to ”Shadows”. Yuki and Anıl’s ”Shadows” is like an oil lamp that can light your way when you run into crossroads in your life… Its oil unfortunately runs out every time and you can’t see what’s in front of you. You will need to replenish the oil, listen to the album once again to see clearly and to walk a bright path.
