10 Nisan 1971 doğumlu Philadelphialı sanatçının jazz, blues ve diğer müzikal sanat formlarındaki köklerinin temeli burada atıldı. Joey DeFrancesco’nun son 30 yılda müziği tamamen ruhunu yansıtıyordu. Müziği farklı modern bir yaklaşımla geleneksel jazz formunu da taşıyordu.
Org’un jazz’da yeniden canlanmasıyla adının anıldığı, DeFrancesco, gelecek nesiller için bu sesin unutulmamasını sağladı. Joey sadece bir org’cu değil, aynı zamanda bir “multi enstrümantalist”, trompetçi ve tenor saksofoncuydu.

Beş kez Grammy® Ödülü adayı oldu. Dünya çapında sayısız ödül aldı ve kendi gruplarına liderlik etmenin yanı sıra sayısız efsanevi müzisyenler ile kayıt yaptı. DeFrancesco ayrıca SiriusXM Radio’nun Real Jazz kanalında “Organized” başlıklı haftalık bir programa ev sahipliği yapıyordu. 25 Ağustos 2022’de bu değerli sanatçıyı çok genç yaşta kaybettik.
